Electric Appliances carrying the above signs have been tested and certified by the German & European Authorities and the comply with the instructions, directives and the standars for safety of the consumer. Do not purchase any electrical appliances which do not carry such signs on the appliance itself and on the its packaging. Make sure that the sign of "GS" is accompanied by the sign of " TÜV" (or else is of no value). P.R.C is a new smart way in order that the consumer does not realize immediately that the product is made in China (People's Republic of China instead of Made in China) Many companies have moved their production of one or more of their products to China or other Asian countries. The products of a known company are always comparatively better. The reason is that they are indeed produced in China or other Asian country, but their production is under the surveillance of a e.g. German company and & in accordance with the German and European directives, regulations, and standards of design and safety. The certification and the tests take place in Germany by German Authorities. Notice also that the same company may produce different products in different countries e.g. vacuum cleaner in Poland, electric hair straighteners in China, shavers in France, etc.
